Implant Restorations

  • Dental implant restoration is the process of replacing a lost tooth with an artificial tooth or crown. Your dentist places an implant in your upper or lower jawbone and the crown over it. The implant is made from titanium to provide a durable tooth root that fuses with your bone.

  • There are two steps involved for dental implants over several months. That's because you need enough time to heal as you go through the process.

    First Step

The first thing is to book an appointment with our Dentist at Waiata Shores Dental for your dental implants. Your dentist will check your health and jawbone density to see if it's vital to hold implant posts. They'll use CT scans or X-rays to determine your bone density.

After the initial assessment, We would refer you to the specialist to get the implant placed.

The implant becomes your tooth root that'll integrate itself into your jawbone. It takes about three to six months for the dental implant to fuse with your bone.

    Second Step

This process involves putting the abutment on your implant to grasp the new artificial tooth or crown. The specialist may perform minor surgery to open your gums and allow the abutment to attach to the dental implant.

    Third step

When the abutment is appropriately positioned, your Dentist at Waiata Shores will either screw or cement your crown over it. It could take two appointments to complete your crown to get a natural-fitting tooth.
